Casino Nova Scotia Sydney, past the causeway
Past the Canso Causeway, Highway 4 runs along East Bay and the road line ends at 525 George St in Sydney. The casino there is a different room from Halifax, and this page sets out what it has and what it lacks.

Simulator golf at the Sydney end
Sydney has something Halifax lacks: golf simulators. There are two Golfzon bays, Bay 1 and Bay 2, and each takes up to 6 golfers. Over 200 courses are available and clubs are supplied, so no golf bag has to ride along over the causeway.
Every day, tee times start at 11 a.m. and go until 3 a.m. Bookings close at 10 p.m., long before the bays shut down. Reservations are made by phone at 902-563-7703, as much as a month in advance. This works well for a driver whose crossing day is already set.
Machines on the Sydney floor
As of April 2025 the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation counted 280 slot machines in Sydney and no table games. Every game on this floor runs on a machine or a screen. The electronic tables deal $3 Blackjack and $1 Roulette.
Nobody prints the hours of the Sydney slot floor, or its holiday openings. Ringing the casino at 902-563-7777 is the way to know before the last stretch along East Bay.

Cards dealt at the other end
Live table games and a poker room are found only in Halifax, not in Sydney. Halifax lies 312 km away as the crow flies, and the road linking the two is longer than that straight line. Anyone hoping to play at a dealer's table or join a poker game should plan for the Halifax end of the trip.
Celtic Junction Bar & Grille, at the Sydney casino, serves a full menu. Its hours are not published, so a call to the casino settles that question too.

- Sydney has no poker room and no live table games. Both are in Halifax only, at the other end of the road.
- Will the bays take a 10:30 p.m. tee time?
- Each day tee times go from 11 a.m. until 3 a.m., though bookings stop at 10 p.m. A start at 10:30 p.m. would come after that final booking time. A group showing up late in the evening would have to secure a slot no later than 10 p.m.
